The MTC Graduate Programmes

Let’s bring great British manufacturing to life

At the MTC, we are united behind our vision to inspire great British manufacturing on the global stage. Since 2010 we have been very successful in building an enviable reputation for creating and implementing great ideas. To continue our success going forward, we are currently  looking for talented engineering and business graduates to join our rapidly growing team.

Our two-year rotational programmes have been designed to give you the experience, knowledge and skills to develop into competent and confident professionals with us. In addition, to a professionally structured development programme, you will get to work on live projects alongside some of the best minds in the industry, learning first-hand what it takes to build a successful and rewarding career bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Graduate Journey

4 Rotations

  • Each rotation is a 6 month placement in a MTC Engineering or Commercial team, working on real projects and commercial activities
  • Rotations may vary into the future depending on business needs and projects available within each MTC Business Unit

Technical Training

  • The Line Manager for each Rotation will organise and deliver any technical training required for you to deliver effective results within that Rotation
  • Training will vary depending on the experience and expertise of each individual, as well as the needs of specific projects or teams

  • Career Development Part 2 with a review of Individual Development Journeys

Outdoor Development 5 Day Module

  • A week long module set in an Outdoor environment
  • An opportunity to apply acquired learning and skills in a new environment, as well as opportunities for developing leadership skills and challenging yourself

3 month Probationary Period

  • Formal Review in December
  • A check to ensure new graduates can demonstrate the following:
    • Motivation and desire to deliver good work
    • Attitudes and behaviours that match the MTC’s mission, values and culture
    • Ability to learn and develop
    • Performance within the initial Rotation
  • Confirmed as a permanent MTC employee by the Christmas break

Professional Development

  • Once a permanent employee and on completion of the first rotation, MTC will discuss individuals expectations on starting to become a member of a professional body
  • Flexible to the individual’s needs and expectations
  • Identification of a suitable mentor to support the pathway to achieving a professional accreditation
  • Opportunities for additional academic study and qualifications
