Paul Rowlett

Managing Director - Lloyds Bank Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre

"The AMTC has all the key components to redefine what engineering is; and can be in the future. Helping to lead this change in perception by delivering apprenticeships that inspire and deliver new skills to futureproof UK manufacturing, is a hugely exciting opportunity for me."

Paul Rowlett is an accomplished specialist in delivering learning and development solutions across the engineering sector, with extensive experience of enabling organisations to grow successfully and maximise their performance.

Paul has more than 18 years’ experience working in the education and skills sector, where his focus has been on developing bespoke commercial training programmes to meet the key business drivers of organisations in the engineering and automotive sectors.

As director of engineering training at Babcock International Group, Paul ran a number of key accounts for organisations such as Network Rail and EDF Energy, in addition to establishing a core automotive training capability that is now the largest provision in the sector, working with over 17 manufacturers including BMW, Volkswagen Group (Audi, VW, VW Commercial, Skoda, Seat, Bentley), Fiat, Ferrari, Hyundai and Mazda, John Deere and Subaru.

In his previous role as director of training at VT Education and Skills – a national provider of education support services – Paul created an automotive training provision for both the internal VT business and the external market and set up the company’s own independent training provision. During this time he secured an extended contract to deliver branded apprenticeship training for the six brands of Volkswagen Group UK (VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat/VW Commercial/Bentley) across a range of disciplines.

Paul recognises the importance of working closely with companies from the outset to understand their drivers, so the most effective training appropriate for their business can be put in place to maximise their return on investment.

I enjoyed the day at the MTC and I'm glad that I have now visited.

I can see the real benefits for the customers, which is where the facilities come into their own.

Thanks for inviting me.
