About Manufacturing Support Services

At the MTC, we know that the beating heart of the UK’s manufacturing sector is the thousands of SMEs, and that these businesses are critical to enhancing the country’s longer-term advanced manufacturing success. The Manufacturing Support Services (MSS) team was created to support the UK’s SME manufacturers to address and overcome their engineering challenges to accelerate performance and improve efficiencies.

Drawing on the extensive resources and expertise at the MTC, our nationwide team of experts support UK manufacturing to embed innovation, accelerate industrial growth and change the way UK SME manufacturers compete. Recognising many SMEs will benefit from further support to invest, we have access to Innovate UK REACH funding to de-risk the initial investment in their future.

ACCESS UP TO 50% FUNDING TO SUPPORT YOUR PROJECT

Our aim is to provide as much support as possible to accelerate the performance of the UK’s SME manufacturers, and we know that we need to build trust and confidence before you invest. That’s why our experienced team will only ever recommend solutions where there is a clear value and ROI on the project.

By working with us, eligible SMEs1 can access Innovate UK REACH funding worth up to 50% of your investment based on the amount of time allocated to a programme of work. For every day of support an SME invests in a qualifying project, the REACH programme will fund another day.

Once engaged with MSS following initial consultations and confirmation of the work programme, our team will help secure the funding for you.

*To access the funding, you will be required to declare any other state aid that you may have received previously and be an SME as defined by the European commission. To qualify as an SME as defined by the European commission you must employ fewer than 250 people and have an annual turnover of up to €50 million or a balance sheet total of no more than €43 million.

BOOK YOUR FREE, NO OBLIGATION LINE WALK TODAY

To help businesses in the early stages of their transformation, the Manufacturing Support Services offers free initial consultations and the first step is a line walk of your facility with no obligation to commit to any work.

A senior member of the team will visit your facility and conduct a tour of your business’s operations to obtain an initial understanding of the challenges faced, before providing guidance on the best route forward.

The MTC brings skills and experience from across a range of technologies and, provided we can agree on a business case, the priorities and an appropriate work programme, we will share with you a proposal outlining how the MTC could support the implementation process.

For qualifying SMEs, we will also discuss with you the Innovate UK REACH funding that is available to support the cost of your project with us.
