We’re proud to share that Dr. Priyanka Ghosh, an Advanced Research Engineer in our Laser Processing team, has been recognised in the prestigious Top 50 Women in Engineering 2025 awards. Organised by the Women’s Engineering Society UK, this year’s theme, Together We Engineer, celebrates women who are breaking new ground and driving meaningful change across the engineering sector.
Dr. Ghosh shared her thoughts on receiving the award:
Being selected for the UK Top 50 Women in Engineering Award 2025 is both humbling and energising. To be recognised alongside such exceptional industry leaders and accomplished professionals is truly overwhelming – it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly and one that fills me with immense gratitude.
This year’s theme “Together We Engineer”, captures something essential: engineering is not a solo pursuit. It thrives on collaboration, shared purpose, and the incredible people who support and elevate one another. Every day, I’m reminded that my journey has been shaped by countless mentors, colleagues, and champions who believed in me when I doubted myself. This award belongs to all of them.
What this means for the engineering sector is significant. We’re witnessing a powerful transformation where diverse voices aren’t just welcomed – they’re essential. When we bring together different perspectives, backgrounds, and approaches, we don’t just solve problems better; we create solutions that change lives and build a more equitable world.
I see this recognition as a platform to continue advocating for inclusive engineering practices and to mentor/support the next generation of engineers. When young women see representation at all levels of our industry, it changes what they believe is possible for their own careers.
The engineering sector is evolving, and this award reflects that positive change. Together, we’re building not just better technologies, but a better profession that harnesses the full potential of human talent.
