Team triumphs in charity challenge
131 miles, 5 charities, 1 incredible day: Team triumphs in charity challenge
On one of the hottest days of the year, our incredible team set off from MTC Coventry at 6:15 AM and arrived at our site in Liverpool at 5:15 PM—completing an epic 131-mile journey in support of five amazing charities: Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Claire House, Coventry and Warwickshire Neonatal Unit, Coventry and Warwickshire Children's Charity, and Homeless Oxfordshire.
Despite the sweltering heat, the team powered through 8 hours and 50 minutes of moving time with no mechanical issues or incidents—just sheer determination and a lot of sweat!
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’ve raised an incredible £1,648.05, which will be split equally among the five charities.
Support came from all corners:
- The Giving Something Back Team provided snack packs for the journey and welcomed the team at the finish line with ice cream and beers.
- MTC Events ensured everyone was fuelled with packed lunches.
- And in a heartwarming moment, representatives from Clatterbridge Cancer Centre were there at the finish line to cheer the team in.
We’re proud to share photos of our team - showcasing the five causes that inspired every mile.

Giving Something Back
Giving Something Back is MTC’s employee-led initiative designed to make a meaningful impact in our local communities. From fundraising and volunteering to STEM outreach and hands-on support, the programme brings together colleagues across all sites to support causes that matter most to them. Each year, employees vote for the charities they want to champion—ensuring that the support we give reflects the values and passions of our people. Whether it’s through bake sales, bike rides, or bingo nights, Giving Something Back is our way of turning collective effort into real-world change.
