Rachel English

Rachel has over 15 years’ experience as a board director, including chairing the main Board of a FTSE 250 international company.  She has chaired Audit & Risk, Remuneration, Nominations & Governance, and Sustainability Board Committees.  She is currently also Senior Independent Director of Camellia plc, where she chairs the Audit & Risk Committee and the Sustainability and Safeguarding Committee, and Hon. Treasurer of Malaria Consortium.  

Rachel has worked globally throughout her career, with substantial experience in large, complex, and multi-jurisdictional organisations. She began her career at PwC, subsequently worked for the World Bank Group and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and then held senior executive positions in blue chip energy companies, including BG Group and Royal Dutch Shell, with responsibilities spanning finance, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and business development.  She was also a member of the Audit Committee of the Department for International Development for 6 years.

Rachel holds an MA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, and holds a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from Henley Business School.
