MTC is pleased to welcome CEAD as our newest member.

CEAD is a Netherlands-based technology company specialising in large-scale composite additive manufacturing solutions. The company designs and delivers robotic and gantry-based 3D printing systems, combining pellet extrusion, industrial automation, and integrated machining capabilities.

CEAD has joined MTC as a member, formalising a collaboration we've built over recent years in Large Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM). Together, we want to advance LFAM understanding and help more manufacturers successfully put it to work. For CEAD, making LFAM work in production has never been about one piece, it's about getting everything to come together, and that's taken deep groundwork from the very start. As the UK's National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, MTC is the right partner to grow LFAM with. For both CEAD and MTC, the work we do is driven and defined by the industry itself. The membership strengthens our ties with industry and academia alike. Together with the knowledgeable team at MTC we are supporting the development that moves this technology forward.

Rogier van den Akker, Sales engineer, CEAD

Serving sectors including aerospace, maritime, automotive, and construction, CEAD enables the production of high-performance, large-format components, helping organisations improve efficiency, reduce material waste, and accelerate innovation.

CEAD and MTC will focus on supporting manufacturers to improve understanding of LFAM and the potential applications of the technology, to support adoption and help industry realise the benefits of this capability.

We’re delighted to welcome CEAD as a member of the MTC, formalising a strong collaboration developed over recent years and reinforcing our shared ambition to advance LFAM. Through this partnership, we are undertaking a major upgrade to the LFAM cell within our main workshop, enabling our customers to access state-of-the-art equipment and explore new applications at scale. As the UK’s National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, MTC is uniquely positioned to support the industrialisation and adoption of this technology, and CEAD’s expertise as a leading developer of LFAM systems will significantly enhance this capability.

Arthur Prior, Senior Research Engineer, MTC.
