The Manufacturing Technology Centre's events and conferencing division - MTC Events - has received a top award for its green credentials and approach to sustainability.
MTC Events, a stand-alone business within the MTC, based on Ansty Park near Coventry, has received an EcoSmart Gold Award following a searching assessment.
The award is made by Greengage Solutions, specialists in environmental sustainability in the events and travel sector. Assessors looked at a wide range of measures including energy and water conservation, waste management and recycling, eco-friendly rooms and facilities, sustainable food and drink offerings, and corporate and social responsibility.
MTC Events, based in the MTC's Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre, hosts events for major manufacturers and business organisations.

The MTC was founded by the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, the University of Nottingham and TWI Ltd. The MTC’s industrial members include some of the UK’s major global manufacturers.
The MTC aims to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the Government’s manufacturing strategy. The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
