Dr Clive Hickman to step down as MTC CEO

Dear Friends

Twelve years ago, I started on a journey which has led from a porta-cabin to what we know now as the MTC. As the first Chief Executive, I was here at the very beginning, but now I feel it is time for me to step down as CEO and I am delighted to be able to inform you that I have been invited to become Chair of Board of this remarkable organisation, which will take effect from January 2023.

In my new position, I will be involved in the strategic direction and governance of the MTC, but I will step down from my current role and its responsibilities, allowing our new CEO to build on the success that MTC has become.

I am proud to say MTC is now a £100m, 850 employee business, with operations across the UK, one of the Times top 100 companies to work for, supporting business, from large to small, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The last 12 years have been a roller-coaster; exciting and challenging in equal measure, but thanks to our joint efforts, we are now recognised as a world-class leader in technology and manufacturing innovation.

Some of you will remember when I started on that journey – thank you for your support helping to deliver on the vision we had way back then: The MTC is a tribute to so many people and I am sure that together, we will continue to have a positive impact for society!

Attached is the formal announcement that has been made to the MTC team, outlining not only my changing role, but also some wider reaching changes that will help MTC to become an even more resilient member of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult family.

Yours sincerely

 Clive Signature
